Airport stopover.

Hi,

Wednesday evening at about 8.40 in a hotel near to Birmingham Airport, I was in my room working late when I heard a couple laughing in the corridor outside my room. I went over to the door and heard a woman’s voice “No, dumbnuts, 148’s not on this floor it’s downstairs.”

The way she said it seemed pretty endearing, though personally I’ve never heard anyone called dumbnuts before, so I waited a few seconds and followed them at a distance as they towed their suitcases back along the corridor to the elevator. I took the stairs and was able to see them again as they finally found room 148 and went in.

I wasn’t able to get all that close but they looked to be in their early thirties, dressed for their holidays. I imagine this was their overnight stop before heading to the airport the next morning. She was tall and slim, long dyed blonde hair, wearing an open hoody top, t-shirt, jeans and sandals. He was similar height, short trimmed beard, jeans, shirt, open summer jacket.

They didn’t leave the room again that evening, this recording was made about an hour after I’d seen them.

love it when couples announce their room number. this usually happens when the exit the elevator too, as they are trying to find which way their room is.
