Paulco, this is for audio files - you need to post something like this to one of the discussion boards.
That said, I read the article and watched the video. Chinese are full of surprises - first for batch recording CCTV for back review (would have thought everything there was live monitored) and 5 days in jail seems like a slap on the wrist for a communist country.
So this individual was incredibly stupid. Most basic rule is - respect peoples' privacy! If you need to press your ear against someone's door, stick something under their door or prostate yourself on the ground to hear them - they are trying to be quiet and don't want to be heard - for God's sake leave them alone and move on!
Yes, I contribute here - from mics I'm holding or concealed in corridors for later listening. Couples that want to share their love with the world are fair game and while I do my best to record anonymously with no confrontation and no sign I was even present, I have no personal guilt for recording sounds everyone else in the hotel is hearing.
Here in the USA there are many soundproof places for shy couples concerned about their lovemaking volume that don't cost very much - HyattPlace, Homewood Suites, SpringHill Suites, Fairfield Suites, Embassy Suites - all of which have an inner door blocking the bedroom off. I have no issue naming these because they aren't even worth considering for sound captures. A lot of wedding night couples choose Embassy exactly for the privacy feature. So the ones that still stay in a place with loud acoustics and still have loud sex - I have to figure it's part of what is getting them off similar to screwing on a balcony or in a hotel stairwell or corridor - but a bit safer.
