"The server has high load"

"Sorry but you cannot use search at this time. The server has high load. Please try again later."

I get this message often when searching for New Posts under the "Quick Links". It seems somewhat random but usually later in the day, New York time.
Is it just me? A cookies issue? A real thing that I should just deal with? I don't think there's a huge amount of traffic here but I get the host might have very limited bandwidth.

Any input either way would be appreciated. I'll post a file if I get some feedback! I might either way but I like giving incentive.

It is no bandwith problem, there is enough. But the server has technical issues at the moment that I don´t understand yet, either. One fact is that somebody is continously trying to get into the admin area ... with no success as the server is pretty safe. But these attacks might consume a lot of the ressources.
But besides searching everything seems to be working so far.

Ok weird. It's been a long standing issue that I've not given much thought to. But it's not a recent thing. It's come up for several years, I'm sure.

You're right about the search problem. The database got pretty huge over the years and the forum script is not top level when it comes to make use of php and mysql. So searching often leads to this error message.

if you type uk in it never could yield results..

Unrelated, but I did try to post a file as thanks but It wasn't working for me. Maybe it'll show up as an orphan file.
