Hi, I figured you'd want me to share this. There's a little story behind it.
_____________________
Recorded with the voice recorder using voice activation mode. I didn’t intend to get any ‘sounds’ yet… but after leaving it behind and forgetting about it underneath some books it recorded around 10 days worth of sound in my room while I was gone. I was trying to see if the battery gets completely run down before the recorder is filled or the other way around..
My room-mates are gone for the summer except one who is also away on a two week vacation in Europe. She gave the neighbour girl (who is early twenties and in college with us) the key to the townhouse so she could feed the pets in my room-mate’s room. My room-mate is paying her.
The neighbour did all that, but…..According to another friend who was out with her on Friday the neighbour got really drunk at a bar and hooked up with some guy. After grinding with him on dance floor she took him back to our place and proceeded to have sex with him all over the downstairs and apparently in one of my room-mates’ beds as well.
I didn’t expect it to (I didn’t think the recorder mic was that sensitive (it’s really small)), but the recorder picked up bits and pieces of it that I edited together. There’s a bedroom door, a narrow hallway, and then 2 narrow flights of stairs down to living room. I didn’t expect the recorder to be able to pick up stuff that far away.
I just deleted the silences and long periods of static.
Didn't expect this...

He has a point, it does sound as though it's being moved around, good effort though. Thanks.

Re: Didn't expect this...
The recorder made 5 separate recordings under voice activation mode. When it hears a noise it records for 15 seconds and automatically sets its gain at the level of the sound it heard to switch on. If the recorder doesn't hear anything loud enough for 15 seconds it goes into sleep mode until something loud enough occurs. It adjusts itself to whatever sound switches it on... so with whispering it would be really sensitive and any loud sounds would overwhelm it... if a garbage truck causes it switch on it doesn't hear much other than what's at that volume --- but that's only if the automatic gain control is turned on in the firmeware. I could set it manually...listenguys wrote:I like the recording.. but if the recorder was just 'left lying around' how come at points we can here someone moving it closer to the action?? or thats how it sounds
The audio file is just stitched together from the recorder making 5 separate recordings.
It also has a metal case with a metal keychain on it that rattles through the mic no matter what I do. I had it pushed between two books near the window, but the wind probably rattled it. You can hear outside noise and wind chimes towards the beginning.
