Under door microphone for iPhone ?

Hello everyone
I often stay in hotel rooms with adjoining doors and have tried wedging my iPhone under the gap ( if there is one ) but I was wondering if there is such a thing as a really slim microphone that plugs into the lightning pity of the iPhone that I could more easily slide under the door.

I’ve seen a YouTube video where someone cuts the earbuds off a set of headphones and just uses the microphone bit- but there must be a better quality solution than that ?
