Valentine's Day in Connecticut
For those of you that might remember, I mentioned that for the past few years, I made several attempts at getting a good recording on Valentine's Day while staying at a hotel. Two years ago, being the first time, I didn't have a recording device at the time; last year, I did but if you recall, I didn't test the recorder properly so I wasn't able to get a capture. Long story short: yesterday while I made the smart move to test my recorder first, I discovered a recording that was mislabeled (mislabeled meaning that the time/date stamp was way off) so I assumed that it was something else. I didn't realize that I did indeed get a very good capture from last year. Unfortunately the WiFi in the hotel for some reason is fucked up and not letting me access the internet so I'll have to wait until I get back home later tomorrow to post the recording. Sorry for making you all wait, but the anticipation is what makes it all exciting. Trust me, you'll love this one when I finally post it.
(Post edited to add the file) Sorry for the delay. Here it is. Unfortunately I didn't see who they were. It sounded like there may have been three of them; two going at it and one watching or maybe filming (homemade porn video perhaps?). I literally heard them through my hotel room door. They were in the room next door so sound quality was virtually perfect. In the recording in several spots, you'll hear occassional "knocking" and creaking. Sorry about that. That was me going in and out of my room to check on the recorder. I had my door propped open too. I waited until they were done before I retreived my recorder. I wanted to get everything. I was hoping they would go at it again later that night but sadly that was it. Anyway, enjoy.

Where I was staying last night was dry as a bone. Planted a couple of corridor mics, but haven't gone through them yet. Hopefully Friday night in Ft Lauderdale will be better..

Out of curiosity… when you plant a corridor mic what are some good locations? I would want the mic to be close to a promising door, but i can’t imagine a reasonable way of keeping it discreet

Re: Valentine's Day in Connecticut
For me, the doorframe has always been the best spot to get quality sound recordings. I usually plant the device on the left side. I don't know how accurate this is, but psychologically, most people tend to focus more on the right side of a door when they're walking into a room, they seldom focus on the left. I don't know. That theory could be wrong, but I've always taken a chance and planted the device on the left side of the frame, usually next to where the door opens.
As I said about this particular recording, I first heard them from inside my hotel room while I was watching TV. I didn't even hesitate. As soon as I heard the moans, I planted my device and waited near my door. Their room was literally right next to mine so sound quality was virtually perfect. I'll go into more detail once I post it.

Same here. It seems like this was a bust. Valentine's Day falling in or near the middle of the week always seems to end up like a dead zone. It falls on a Wednesday next year. I think I might take other people's advice and schedule my hotel booking for that weekend leading up to Valentine's Day instead. I'm sure there'll be a lot more action then.edtraveller wrote: ↑15 Feb 2023 14:47 Where I was staying last night was dry as a bone. Hey, Ed. Whatever hot sounds you catch in Fort Lauderdale, please share them. I'd love to hear them.

Do you try to camouflage it?HolyRoller478 wrote: ↑15 Feb 2023 17:47For me, the doorframe has always been the best spot to get quality sound recordings. I usually plant the device on the left side. Uh...Actually I don't. But I do try to stay close just in case someone walks by. Fortunately that hasn't happened during my recordings.Paul7979 wrote: ↑15 Feb 2023 21:59Do you try to camouflage it?HolyRoller478 wrote: ↑15 Feb 2023 17:47For me, the doorframe has always been the best spot to get quality sound recordings. Amazing recording, yes there could be 3 of them. A cuckold scenario?

That's what I was thinking at first too, but then it only sounded like just two of them at the end. Either or, she sounded amazing. I kind of wish I had a chance to see what they looked like.
