audio software

Post by koerbel_de »

i made some recordings in an hotel a few weeks ago. the sound is not the best, because the device was only a cheap mp3-player.
i tried to edit the files with an old version of steinberg wavelab, but with only decent results. what i would like to do is making the voices louder and the other frequencies more... quiet :-)
wavelab seems to be a good software for that purpose, but i have no clue how to use the countless features of it.

so the question is: which software would you recommend?

audacity if you are an expert (open source, mighty), adobe audition if you have some money to spend (even more mighty but better to handle and in results).
