Easter is Better Than Valentines - (Not as Good) Friday Night

I guess the spree has ended and life is back to normal. Ran my ass off, planted a bunch of mics - got a very brief (but delicious) 2-part session Under Door - lots of security and housekeeping were roving the floor so couldn't stay for the full thing - more on that one later.

But did get another couple off a planted mic and a decent corridor recording.

One beautiful and drunk couple entered a room near me - and all night and morning - NOTHING. Just crashed. Should be a crime. And my next door neighbors - same thing - young; great voices.. and NOTHING. And then there were two off USB plants that sounded very promising but turned out as false starts.

Without further delay - here is the first couple -

Couple B I ignored a very important rule - KNOW YOUR EQUIPMENT! I got the Under Door described above because I was collecting the USB to edit over breakfast per custom - walked around the housekeeping carts - said Hi to a couple of security types - and the corridor emptied briefly allowing me to get this. I figured a nice sample of the door would be great and I'd post the larger part of the session from the USB. By the way it was already 11AM so I figured everyone was already done and gone. After breakfast I strolled back upstairs, snagged the USB - and knew something was bad when I saw the file length of 11hrs. I currently have 3 black, 4 white and one silver USB mics. The B&W record clean but not exactly kickass mp3 files - but they last up to 24 hours. So even if I plant 6PM, I have nothing to worry about. The silver records in WAV so the battery life is a bit less than half. I had planted it 7PM and so by the time I was hearing them live, the recorder I thought had picked up everything and would continue while I was at breakfast - had been dead since 6AM! And - I already know from earlier parts this couple opted to catch up on sleep and bang later that AM. In short the USB got nothing.

So while the recordings are disappointingly short, I wouldn't post them if they weren't good - and she is a a NICE little humper!

Since most of the time, I can't get descriptions, this couple is very typical of the looks and age of most of the clientele..

Also, I am a HUGE believer in double faced tape. A white USB recorder can be hidden in plain sight as long as there is something similar next to it. So the same fuckers that would rip this off literally plug their vacuum cleaners into outlets where my recorder's mounted and they don't take a second look - I have at least three recordings where I detected this happened. Human nature I guess - something's on the ground, pick up - keep, turn in, or throw away. Same thing stuck somewhere - must be there for a reason - leave it alone.
In the photo - it stands out - but if you are there in person, the plastics match so closely the USB looks like it belongs there with the outlet!

Very clever with the 2 sided tape. Do you weaken the adhesive before you apply it to the wall? I used to work at a place that had crazy high parking fees, but you could get a motorcycle sticker for life for $35. I stuck the sticker on my first bike, and soon regretted that. The second sticker I got I stuck on my pants a bunch of times until the adhesive would stick if I rubbed it on good but was easy to pull off. That was the last parking sticker I ever bought.

No, I use 3m acrylic. Will stick to anything instantly but cleans off very easily. Strong hold so I cut into small, thin strips as a little will go long way. If I'm careful I can even move micsnonce or twice without having to replace the tape.
