i'm only 5 mins in to the 1st part here man, but wanted to post and thank you for sharing - its pretty good stuff, and for a first post i'm impressed!

just one thing to bear in mind - its a shame to have a recording with content as good as this degraded to 22050 HZ. If its possible for you to encode at 44100 HZ next time (i'm hoping there will be a next time) then you'll make me a happy happy man!

Thanks again for sharing, and I'm lookin forward to parts 2 and 3

I'm downloading new files but there's maybe no time to listen before
I'm back in a week or two. I agree with scott-uk about 44100 HZ and
some are still using old equipments. Then it cannot be better - but IF
the files are degraded to save space, I would be very happy to
have originals sent to: rpsfx@hotmail.com Thanks :)

Sample Rate

Post by jscprod »

Apparently my recorder has a maximum sampling rate of 16khz, so it seems that the 22khz file is as good as it gets. Sorry folks. Maybe I'll have to get a better recorder... :D

Yeah, looks like you are using one of the older olympus recorders from the way the files are named, I had one like that before I got my new one. Yes the max sample rate is 22050KHZ mono so there is of course no sense in resampling at a higher rate. A very good first post nonetheless, thanks much for sharing!
